Katy Perry, Mutant Spider Dog Top YouTube's Most Watched List of 2014
It was a World Cup-dominated year.
YouTube has released the list of their top contenders for 2014—and, unsurprisingly, Katy Perry tops the music category with over 715 million views for her "Dark Horse" single.
Coming in second was Enrique Iglesias' Spanish version of "Bailando" with 587 million. Rihanna and Shakira's provocative video "Can't Remember to Forget" brought in over 442 million views. Shakira appears again in the top four slot with her World Cup anthem, "La La La" at 418 million.
YouTube also released their list of the most watched non-music videos of 2014, which included the prank clip "Mutant Giant Spider Dog," Nike's cameo-filled World Cup commercial, the black and white "First Kiss" compilation (that also turned out to be an ad of sorts), an eye-opening video on street harassment and a song by that now-world-famous nun on Italy's version of The Voice.
