It was a choice to set our clocks 10 minutes ahead of India, which at the time used the longitude that passed through Calcutta. When our Neighbour switched their meridian to Hyderabad in 1971, we officially had four degrees of separation, hence a further five minutes ahead of the Indian time
was because Gauri Shankar was closer to Nepal's center of gravity,Gaurishankar longitude: 27°57′12″N 86°20′09″E
choosen 86'15''
=86+15/60
86.25
time diff = 86.25 * 4 min = 345 min = 5 hr 45
nepal lies between 26°22' - 30°27' north latitude and 80°4' - 88°12' east longitude
